Sharing with you some of my favourite gadgets.

Kindle

There is endless debate about whether e-reader or traditional books are better. I have both :)

I put Kindle in my bag wherever I go because it is lightweight and portable. The books I put in Kindle are kind of easy-to-read and for leisure. I make good use of the highlight functions to markdown insightful sentences and turn on X-ray when the books involve multiple characters and a timeline.

I read paper books if they are really worth the price, or when it is for academic/ professional learning purposes. I can only absorb hardcore knowledge when I am reading indoor.

Bose Soundlink Mini II

What I love about Soundlink Mini II is its signature deep bass. It’s mini size suit for bedroom use.

There’s nothing more relaxing than turning on the speaker with my favourite music at the weekend/ after a day of work.

Jaybird Vista

Brands like Sony, Bose, Soul, Jabra etc… have been producing its wireless earbuds. But I’d go for Jaybird because it’s a brand solely designed for sports (dust-proof, water-proof, sweat-proof). The Jaybird app also provides a tailor-made experience for EQ control.

A warm reminder when purchasing a set of wireless earbuds: make sure they can be connected independently so you can use either the Left or Right side for more flexibility. It also guarantees zero-lag stereo sounds.

Jabra Stealth

Jabra is the king of Bluetooth headsets for making clear, noise-free calls. Stealth is an ultra-lightweight version that only weighed 8 grams.

Of course, it can also be used to listen to music or podcast, but I’d prefer to switch to my Jaybird Vista or Bose SoundLink Mini II for an immersive experience.

Mi Smart Band

Similar to Kindle vs traditional books, there’s also heated debate about the pros and cons of smartwatches and traditional watches.

I love traditional watches because they don’t need to charge every day, and I can switch different styles and colors based on the occasion and what am I wearing. At the moment, I don’t need a screen on the wrist to remind me of every Whatsapp/ text message, for wireless payment, or for 24-hour health checking.

The Mi Smart Band is a price-quality piece. The timer function, water-proof design and heart rate monitoring are sufficient enough for my sport’s use.

Gallium Nitride (GaN) Charger

GaN chargers are one of the hottest pieces of gadget in 2020.

I am not an expert in chemistry. So put in simple terms, GaN chargers are smaller, more portable than the majority of chargers (silicon chargers) because they don’t require many electronic components. GaN chargers are also more efficient at transferring current as less energy is lost to heat. You can fully charge the gadgets in a much shorter time.

Universal Socket

This piece of the gadget allows me to plug in devices I have bought in Hong Kong, Mainland China, UK, US etc… as the universal socket is compatible with different voltage and shapes of plugs.
